1. 0 of 5 stars off with The Genius Club Please take advantage of logic: I bought an Apple laptop with an extended warranty. Well, good news, I needed it. The bad news – see below.

So – I bit 'the bullet and updated by a Rev A 1. 6GHz 80GB HDD MBA – a Rev B 1. 86GHz 128GB SSD MBA. I wanted to send my comments on what it is updating – I know that many homeowners have Rev A – or think – Updated to Rev B.
In this review, I refer to "Rev A" and "Rev B". A Rev 1 is my age. 6GHz 80GB HDD MBA. The Rev B is my new 1. 86GHz 128GB SSD MBA
Warning – unlike some (but not all!) Rev A Owners MBA, I love my Rev A MBA. I had problems with freezing. It runs cool and I found no basis therefore the closure. It would heat when most notebooks in general, the heat from fans and kicks. Would cool quickly when I switched to something else. With the video has never stutter. . . Perhaps my Rev A worked so well, why not lots of it. This is a second Mac to my Mac Pro – I use it primarily for email, word processing, movies on iTunes and surf the web – on the couch and onto the street. E 'was really a great laptop and I have nothing bad to say about it.
So why did I upgrade? I wanted more space. I have a Rev A duel to start the installation program (Vista) for commercial uses, from time to time when I travel. Who kills a bit of space. Also – with the Rev A is compromised – not my music, photos and other large files with me. Not a bad compromise. But the Rev. B's larger hard drive was tempting – in addition, Rev A has been so great, I am ready to make the investment to have the latest / greatest version of the aircraft itself is a leap / improvement over Rev A – both the speed and graphics-wise. I do not want to waste time on a form factor – those of you who already have one there – it's great. . .
Here are my observations – based on things I can see and observe – not "Xbench scores" – the use of the real world – and I hope this will give you an idea of the difference between Rev A and B . Rev and I love him, I have my Rev A next to me – next to the B. Rev.
My observations
1) Packaging – B Rev. was similar to the AP in terms of layout, but the packaging materials Rev A were much more beautiful. Package Rev B is more consistent with other Apple laptops – white sign with handle. I liked the packaging of the Rev A – very solid and strong in comparison – set the original part air.
2) Sounds – The first thing I noticed when booting It Up: The B Rev (SSD) is in the form, without noise. The hum and noise Rev A thin disk is (obviously) completely disappeared. 4) Keyboard – E 'was a surprise – and I had to check that. Keyboard Rev B was enhanced similarly to the trackpad button – The keys are quiet and seem more protected. It is difficult to explain, but the improvement has led to a typing experience more peaceful – less rattley. To see what I mean, slide your finger back / forward slightly in a Rev A keyboard and the keys are more games and make more noise in your loser keys. The Rev B is stricter when you do this – less game and less noise.
5) of the screen – Many complain that the screen has lines Rev B low. I saw them in terms of Apple Store, there is none. He "has a question at the time of my B Rev, but I have not read about someone who was denied reimbursement by Apple if they had lines on the screen of the MBA . Bottom line – Apple stands behind their products – I was not afraid to risk having to make a comeback.
I looked very hard in my Rev B, and if I head to the right place and the right screen angle, I see a few lines – but in reality are hard to find and are not as bad as what I saw on the screen of the Apple Store Rev B tunes. Looking at my Rev A, making the same contortions as I can understand them – but even the weakest lines. My Rev B is a goalkeeper – I can not see the lines during normal use. Side by side, the Rev A and Rev B displays the same for me. Same brightness, color saturation, etc, etc. I have both setup using the same display profile – the default "Color LCD" profile. I played the same clip and frozen on the same frame – the screens look absolutely identical.
6) the display output – B Rev. is the latest Mini DisplayPort screen – which replaces the Rev A Micro DVI port. Unlike the Rev, Rev B does not include VGA and DVI. Are you purchased separately for an additional $ 29 each. Typical of Apple to remove Extra Edition Rev B. . . I never used the cards Rev A and chose not to buy for the Rev B until I need.
7) 4 finger gestures – I really like this. I was surprised to see how they work and how I use them. Four fingers – see the desktop. Four Down – Presentation (awesome). Four to the right or left – move applications. Good stuff. I like it.
graphics – Nvidia graphics chips is a huge jump compared to Intel chips before. I conducted several games on my Rev. B, who could not run the air and Rev. A are very playable! I like this – I play occasionally when I travel – when I fly. . . This is a big improvement and I like the ability to use applications that require capabilities of mid-level graphics.
9) Performance – I saved the best for last. Is the area where I'm really pleasantly surprised. The performance of the Rev B is significantly faster. Surprisingly so. In some respects, it is faster than my Mac Pro (but not the heavy lifting – not much!)
Here are some comments (please note that applications will start times are after a reboot of Mac OS X – so that applications can be cached and load faster the second time).
Some of these differences may seem small, but they are huge – look at the clock and put 14 seconds. . . Is what it takes extra time for Word to load on my Rev A. You begin to truly appreciate the SSD drive. . .
Start from a complete stop – Rev A: 56 seconds; Rev B: 28 Seconds
Restart – Rev A: 58 seconds; Rev B: 31 seconds
Switch off – Rev A: 3 seconds; Rev B: 2 seconds
Start Safari and page load (Boston com) – Rev A: 18 seconds; Rev B: 7 Seconds
Start Entourage – Rev A: 24 seconds; Rev B: 8 seconds
ITunes Top – Rev A: 9 seconds; Rev B: 4 seconds
Open MS Word – Rev A: 17 seconds; Rev B: 3 seconds
If you plan to change – it is an improvement of Nice.

OK first I put there because most are concerned about the power also has an MBA from many people (including myself) play WoW, so I thought I would be a good benchmark for air. Players recognize that the air now has NVIDIA 9400M, which plays beautifully WoW.

Weight MBA is definitely a plus. The computer can easily be supported by one hand while the other moves / types – Try doing that with another 13 "+ laptop and see the difference.
Battery life is exemplary. I can easily make the air last six hours, but with intermittent breaks during which sleep and do something else, such as checking email on my iPhone 3G white or talk to someone. Waking the Air sleep lasts less than three seconds if you have not set to require a password to reactivate. Since Apple announced, yes, the brightness of the screen is full after waking the computer.
Wi-Fi reception is impressive. Apple placed the antenna behind the screen so it is always in the best position to get a signal. The Air 802. 11n more integrated Bluetooth.
The doors are not really a big problem. Everything I've ever really with the Air is the casual reader of your thumb, the software is installed via remote disk on my iMac. You can also copy files wirelessly to and from the air and on your PC or MAC.

The biggest thing left is the optical drive of money. As you can see, there is a huge space wasters. You could fit a hard drive completely different in this space.
The screen is the best I've ever seen. Simply stunning. E 'bright, fresh, and the colors are bright and accurate.
The keyboard is exemplary, but collects fingerprints easily. A daily wipe-down fixes.
The touchpad is excellent in comparison with those of Windows Mobile "that I used, however, new glass trackpad MBA, which I love. (Seriously, you should try the new trackpad. It is absolute happiness …)
Speech recognition is entertaining! You can make jokes about your computer say, tell time, to say what day is today, with a single control is verbal commands, etc.
Overall, only to get an MBA if you get a portable Mac. The only exceptions are if the budget you're too small (getting a MacBook) or if the video processing (MacBook Pro). In all other cases, the MacBook Air!
